Crispy Fried Fish: Lahori Style

Ingredients
  

  • 2 lbs Fish
  • Lemon
  • salt

Marination

  • 1 tsp salt or to taste
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp chaat masala
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp carom seeds (ajwain)
  • 8-10 garlic cloves
  • 1 tbsp vinegar

Coating

  • 1 cup Gram flour besan
  • 1 tbsp rice flour
  • 1/2 tbsp corn flour
  • salt to taste
  • 1/2 tsp carom seeds ajwain
  • 1/2 tsp red chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp red crushed chili
  • 1 tsp paprika podwer
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

Instructions
 

Prepare the fish

  • Cut fish into pieces.  
  • Squeeze lemon juice and sprinkle salt over the fish
  • Let it rest for 30 minutes.  
  • Rinse with water and pat dry.  

For marination:

  • Blend garlic and all the spices.  
  • Coat the fish with the mixture.  
  • Marinate for 2-3 hours or overnight.  

Coating Mixture

  • Mix gram flour, rice flour, corn flour, and spices with water to make a smooth paste.  
  • Dip the marinated fish in the paste.
  • Fry in hot oil until golden and crispy.
