Dough (Atta) Recipe Using Mixer

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups Whole wheat flour
  • 1 1/2 cups Warm water
  • 1 tbsp Oil
  • Salt (optional)

Instructions
 

  • Start by placing the whole wheat flour in the bowl of your mixer.
  • Use the dough hook attachment.
  • Add oil, salt (optional) and turn the mixer on low speed (stir or 1) to begin mixing the flour.
  • Slowly pour in the water, starting with 1 cup and adding more as needed until the dough comes together and is no longer dry and crumbly.
  • Increase the speed of the mixer to medium (no. 4) and let it knead the dough for about 5-7 minutes, or until the dough becomes smooth and elastic.
  • In the end, move the speed to no. 6 for a min and at this point the dough should no longer stick to the sides of the bowl.
  • Once the dough is kneaded, remove it from the mixer and transfer it into an airtight container.
  • Let it rest for at least 10-15 minutes before rolling it out.

  1. This recipe makes 2 cups of flour atta, which is enough for about 8-10 rotis/chapatis.
  2. The amount of water needed may vary based on the specific brand of flour you are using.
