How to Make Thick Yogurt at Home?

The Tried & Tested method to set thick and creamy yogurt at home. Easy way to make yogurt, follow the recipe, and all the TIPS mentioned in the video.

Ingredients
  

  • 3 cups whole milk
  • 2 tbsp yogurt at room temperature
  • 2 tbsp whole milk at room temperature

Instructions
 

  • In a pan, add milk and bring it to a boil.
  • Turn the flame to medium. And beat the milk 10-12 times.
  • Keep the milk on the stove for anothe 10 mins bring the flame down.
  • Transfer it into a container you want to use to set the yogurt in.
  • Place a blanket or towels under the container.
  • Prepare the culture by mixing 2 tbsp of yogurt and 2 tbsp of milk.
  • Milk temperature should be warm but not too HOT.
    [This is the tricky part if you can insert your finger in the milk and can tolerate the temperature, it’s the right time to add the yogurt culture in (110F or 43C)]
  • Add the prepared culture in the milk slowly and stir it gently 3-4 times.
  • Cover and wrap the container using towels or a blanket.
  • Put the container in warm place (any cabinet or oven) for 6-7 hours or overnight.
  • After 6-7 hours, put it in the fridge for 30-40 mins or until chilled.

Notes

Yogurt and milk for culture both should be at room temperature.
Don’t shake the container too much. Place it very gently in a cabinet or oven.
