Bhuna Chicken – Chicken Masala

Bhuna Chicken Masala

Easy and quick way to make this bhuna chicken my way.

Ingredients
  

  • 1.5 lbs Chicken
  • 1/2 cup Oil
  • Onions sliced 250 g
  • 1 Tomato
  • 1 cup Yogurt whisked & at room temperature
  • 1 tbsp Ginger garlic paste
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp Red chili powder or to taste
  • 1/2 tbsp Coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp Paprika

Instructions
 

  • Heat oil in a pan. Add sliced onions and fry until they turn light golden.
  • Then add little water, add all the spices and ginger garlic paste. Cook on high heat for 2-3 minutes.
  • Add chopped tomatoes, cover and cook for 5-7 mins to soften the tomatoes. Add little water if the masala is too dry.
  • Next add chicken, and fry on high heat for few mins.
  • Bring the heat to lowest setting, add whisked yogurt. Yogurt should be at room temperature. Mix until yogurt gets combined in the masala.
  • Turn the heat high and cook the chicken. Cover and cook until chicken is done.

Notes

  1. Oil should be well heated when you add sliced onions.
  2. You may blend the onions when they turn golden and tomatoes together, if you want. (its optional)
  3. Use room temerature yogurt.
  4. Whisk the yogurt well.
  5. Bring the heat to lowest setting when you add the yogurt.
  6. Mix until yogurt is well combined in the masala, then turn the heat high and cook.
