Lahori Chargha

Sharing a very special recipe with you all “Lahori Chargha”. The most famous and traditional Pakistani fried whole chicken. Try it, adjust the spices according to your taste, and let me know your feedback.

For SOAKING:

  • Water (pani) as required (hasbe zaroorat)
  • Salt (namak) 1 Tbsp
  • Vinegar (sirka) 3 Tbsp
  • Ginger garlic paste (adrak lehsan) 1 Tbsp

Marination:

  • Yogurt (dahi) 1 Cup
  • Salt (nama) 1 Tbsp or to taste (hasbe zaiqa)
  • Cumin powder (zeera) 1 Tbsp
  • Coriander powder (dhaniya) 1 Tbsp
  • Black pepper (kali mirch)  1 Tsp
  • Red chili powder (lal mirch) 1 Tsp or to taste (hasbe zaiqa)
  • Crushed red chili (kooti lal mirch) 1 Tsp or to taste (hasbe zaiqa)
  • Garam masala 1/2 Tbsp
  • Ginger garlic paste 1 Tbsp
  • Paprika 1 Tsp
  • Turmeric (haldi) ½ Tsp
  • Food color ¼ Tsp (optional)
  • Lemon juice 3 Tbsp
  • Oil 2 Tbsp
