Chicken Manchurian

Ingredients:
For Chicken Marination:
- 2 lbs boneless chicken
- 1 egg
- Salt to taste
- 1 tsp garlic, crushed
- 1 tsp crushed red chili
- 1/4 tsp black pepper powder
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp vinegar
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce (optional)
- 2 tbsp corn flour
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
For Gravy:
- 1 tbsp oil
- 1 tsp garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp vinegar
- 1/2 cup tomato ketchup
- 2 tbsp chili sauce
- 1.5 tbsp sugar
- Salt to taste
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 capsicum, diced (optional)
- 1 cup water
- 2 tbsp corn flour mixed with water
Instructions:
1. Marinating the Chicken:
- In a bowl, combine boneless chicken pieces with egg, salt, crushed garlic, crushed red chili, black pepper powder, soy sauce, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce (if using), corn flour, and all-purpose flour.
- Mix well to coat the chicken evenly.
- Marinate the chicken for at least 30-40 minutes.
- After marination, deep fry the chicken pieces in hot oil until golden brown. Fry them one by one to ensure even cooking. Remove and set aside.
2. Preparing the Gravy:
- In the same pan, remove excess oil, leaving about 1 tablespoon.
- Add minced garlic and sauté for a minute.
- Stir in soy sauce, vinegar, tomato ketchup, chili sauce, sugar, salt, and black pepper. Cook on high flame for 2 minutes.
- Add diced capsicum (if using) and cook for another minute.
- Pour in 1 cup of water and let it come to a boil.
- Mix corn flour with water to make a slurry and add it to the boiling gravy, stirring continuously.
- Cook for an additional 2 minutes or until the gravy thickens.
- Finally, add the fried chicken pieces to the gravy and mix until well coated.
- Turn off the flame and serve hot.
