Bhuna Chicken – Chicken Masala
Bhuna Chicken Masala
Easy and quick way to make this bhuna chicken my way.
Ingredients
- 1.5 lbs Chicken
- 1/2 cup Oil
- Onions sliced 250 g
- 1 Tomato
- 1 cup Yogurt whisked & at room temperature
- 1 tbsp Ginger garlic paste
- 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
- 1/2 tsp Red chili powder or to taste
- 1/2 tbsp Coriander powder
- 1/2 tsp Paprika
Instructions
- Heat oil in a pan. Add sliced onions and fry until they turn light golden.
- Then add little water, add all the spices and ginger garlic paste. Cook on high heat for 2-3 minutes.
- Add chopped tomatoes, cover and cook for 5-7 mins to soften the tomatoes. Add little water if the masala is too dry.
- Next add chicken, and fry on high heat for few mins.
- Bring the heat to lowest setting, add whisked yogurt. Yogurt should be at room temperature. Mix until yogurt gets combined in the masala.
- Turn the heat high and cook the chicken. Cover and cook until chicken is done.

Notes
- Oil should be well heated when you add sliced onions.
- You may blend the onions when they turn golden and tomatoes together, if you want. (its optional)
- Use room temerature yogurt.
- Whisk the yogurt well.
- Bring the heat to lowest setting when you add the yogurt.
- Mix until yogurt is well combined in the masala, then turn the heat high and cook.
