Cheese Pizza

Easy cheese pizza with homemade dough

Ingredients
  

  • 2.5 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 2 tsp Yeast
  • 1 cup Water (lukewarm)
  • 1/2 tsp Sugar
  • 1-2 tbsp Oil
  • 2-3 tbsp Pizza sauce
  • 1 cup Cheese

Instructions
 

  • Mix lukewarm water, yeast and sugar and let it rest for few minutes.
  • Mix all-purpose flour and the salt.
  • Knead the dough using the yeast mixture. Add the oil
  • Cover and let it rest for 1 hour in a warm place.
  • Roll the dough and make a ball, use fingers to flatten the puffy dough and stretch it out slightly.
  • Drag onto the pizza pan, continue shaping using fingers/palm pulling right the edges thepan.
  • Prick holes using a fork. This helps avoid getting air pockets forming in the dough while it's baking.
  • Spread the sauce and cover with cheese.
  • Bake at 420 F/220 C for 15-20 mins or until cooked.

Notes

    • Warm water – yeast loves warmth so it helps the dough rise faster.
    • Sugar – it helps the dough rise and iron the crust.
    • If you’re using active dry yeast, allow the yeast enough time to bubble up and become active, this could take few minutes.
    • To proof your yeast allow the mixture to bubble up, by leaving it to set for few minutes after mixing.
    • Salt – for flavorless pizza because nobody like a bland pizza.
    • Knead the dough for 5 minutes with hands OR 3 minutes if you’re using a mixer.
    • Oil – it helps keep the crust tender and crisp.
    • Once the dough has risen, use immediately or refrigerate unto 5 days for even better flavor.
    • Use a soft touch – if you flatten the dough to death you’ll end up with a dry, super crisp crust. 
    • Pizza crust should be stretched, pulled and pushed outwards.
