In a bowl, combine finely chopped ginger and garlic, black pepper, lemon juice, and salt. Set aside.
Heat oil in a pan over medium-high heat.
Add the marinated chicken and cook until it changes color, stirring occasionally.
Once the chicken has changed color, add chopped onions, ginger, tomato puree, yogurt, and red chili powder to the pan.
Mix everything together until well combined.
Cover the pan and let the chicken cook until it's fully done, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.
Serve hot with your choice of roti, paratha, or plain rice.
