Marinate the chicken with salt, black pepepr, red chili powder and paprika. Mix and set aside for 30 mins.
Heat oil in a wok or kadhai and add the chopped/grated onion. Fry on medium heat till the color changes.
Add the ginger garlic paste, mix and continue to fry on low to medium heat for 2-3 mins.
Add the green chili paste and cook.
Next add the marinated chicken, mix and cook on high heat for 1-2 mins till the color changes.
Add turmeric, red chili powder, corainder powder and salt. Cook 2-3 mins on high heat.
Add tomato puree and cook 3-4 mins.
Next add the whisked yogurt and mix. Add water as required. Cover and let it cook until chicken is done.
Add garam masala, green chilies, ginger and coriander and mix. Cover and simmer for 10-12 mins on low heat.
Add butter/ghee (this is optional)
Add dried fenugreek leaves (kasuri methi) and mix.
Serve it hot with chutney, naan, roti or rice. And enjoy :)
